Competition Entry Information

Ohio Brew Week invites you to enter your beers in this year’s AHA-BJCP sanctioned homebrew competition taking place Saturday July 19th, 2008 at the Dairy Barn Arts Center, 8000 Dairy Lane, Athens, Ohio 45701. The judging (not a public event) will take place between 9am and 3pm, and the awards ceremony will follow at “Boogie on the Bricks” (free).

ONLINE ENTRIES ONLY: Only online entries are accepted this year.
The registration utility requires Internet Explorer (sorry for this limitation).
www.HordsOfFun.Com/hbc.rw/regwiz.aspx?w=0217061120
This link will guide you through the registration process and generate the bottle labels for you to print out and attach rubber band to your bottles. Please rubber band the labels onto your bottles (no tape please!) If you lose the labels or are unable to print them contact kleinjc40@hotmail.com and he’ll look up the entry number and advise.

Registration deadline is June 22.

Entries (the beers and the check) must arrive between June 30 and July 13 at:

Athens Do-It-Yourself
6 Euclid Dr.
Athens, OH 45701

Ship via any shipper except USPS as, e.g., “Preserved Goods in Glass - Fragile” or “Yeast, Samples, Glass, This Side Up.” It is in general legal (although shippers are ignorant of this fact, and focus entirely on restrictions based on taxable beverages, and it’s completely pointless to try to convince them otherwise). It is however not legal for US Postal Service (US Mail) to ship any alcoholic beverage.

Please include your entry fee check (made to Ohio Brew Week) with the beers.

The entry fee is $8 for the first entry, $5 for each additional entry. Two bottles are required for each entry. ALL BEER categories from the 2008 BJCP Style Guideline are invited to compete and will be grouped as necessary to create competitive flights.

Medallions will be awarded to the top 3 beers in each judging group and special prizes will be awarded to the best three beers in the show.

The Ohio Brew Week Homebrew Competition is open only to beers brewed by amateur brewers using homebrew equipment.
